Hmm, I was just going over the hours I’ve spent on my animation The Paper Pirate. Apparently so far, I’ve spent approx 215 hours just on the animation. It’s still minuscule compared to what Adam totalled up for Ninjaman though (over 500 I think?). But then again, I had too many things going on last year…
Anyway, it’s been 5 months since I’ve done some work on The Paper Pirate and now I’m back on track again. Let’s see how long I can hold onto this for. Here’s hoping I will finish it before I’m 22. ;)
Adam worked over 800 hours on Ninjaman. Freak.
Being Anzac Day Eve it is today my dad, uncle and another family dude had a round of drinks at my crib. I, being a man of a son that I am, decided to join the holy table and had a beer of my own. My dad brought up the fact that he recently looked at his wedding photo and realised how young he was when he got married. He was my age I am now – 21. My uncle added that my dad was a skinny fuck back then, and how “rough” and maybe even how “gangster” he was compared to me. I’m like the complete opposite of him – kind and handsome ;).
They then started talking about how young they were when they got married and/or got their gf’s pregnant. Comparing the youth back in the day to the youth of today, they concluded that they had it ten times worse, maybe a thousand times worse if you include the Vietnam War. “When I was your age,” my drunk uncle said, “My daughter was already two”. “Dude, this is Australia,” I thought. “We have condoms here, even gladwrap.”
When I finished eating my dad asked if the other half of The Johnny and Ethan Show had a new gf. I replied, “No”. He then took a sip at his beer and asked, “Are yous two gay or something?”
Reflecting that I DID go and see Brokeback Mountain with Ethan (and Susan), I sipped my H-Ahhh-N beer as I didn’t know what to say.
